This condition has several types. They can be classified as the following:
Patchy Alopecia Areata
This type is more common than other types. It is characterized by one or more hairless patches on the scalp, armpits, eyebrows, eyelashes, beard area, and even inside the nose.
Alopecia Totalis
The patient loses all hair on the scalp and gets completely bald in this type. In other words, it is hair loss on the patient’s scalp, completely.
Alopecia Universalis
This type is triggered when you lose hair completely from the scalp and everywhere, including the body and face.
No matter the type, this autoimmune disorder results in hair loss. Unfortunately, you can’t determine or predict the hair loss pattern, regrowth, and how long it will last.
